Arquinesia
Arquinesia was started by a Swiss couple who fell for Mallorca, and its first shop opened in Palma. The perfumes are named after island scents such as orange, fig and sea breeze, and the brand says they are made by hand in Mallorca. In 2024 it opened a second shop in Barcelona, inside a restored century-old mask shop in the Born.

Mallorca island scents, from Palma to the Born
Arquinesia was created by a Swiss couple, creatives with a love of photography and interior design, after many trips around the Mediterranean and a love for the Balearic Islands. Its first shop opened in Palma de Mallorca, on a small side street in the old centre. In 2024 Time Out Barcelona reported a second shop in Barcelona, inside the century-old Arlequí mask shop on Carrer de la Princesa, where the owners restored the original furniture.
The perfumes are made by hand in Mallorca, where the house also develops, fills and packs them, and they are vegan. The Island Discovery Collection holds six scents, each a moment on the islands, from a morning on the coast to the lanes of the old town. The Voyage Collection turns to feelings, memories and places.
In Spain you can smell the whole range in its own shops: Carrer de Sant Gaietà 6A in Palma (Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 19:00) and Carrer de la Princesa 7 in Barcelona (Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 20:00). An Island Discovery eau de parfum costs €109 for 100 ml. Try Orange first: it pairs orange blossom and blood orange with the mountain air of the Tramuntana.
