Birkholz is a family perfume house started around 2017 by Nasyr and Katrin Birkholz and run with their sons Philip and Sven. All perfumes are made and bottled by hand in its own manufactory on the south edge of Berlin, and it runs a perfume bar inside KaDeWe.

A Berlin family's hand-finished perfumes, sold at KaDeWe
Birkholz is a family perfume house founded in 2017 near Berlin. Katrin and Nasyr Birkholz run it with their sons Philip and Sven, and each of them leads one part of the business. The company takes its name from Katrin, and Nasyr came to Germany from Iraq in 1988, American Express reported. Philip, a perfume sommelier, composes each scent with established perfumers and gathers ideas on his travels.
Since 2017 all production has taken place in its own manufactory at the old Checkpoint Bravo in the Europarc Dreilinden, Kleinmachnow. The perfumes are filled on specially developed machines and finished by hand, using perfume oils from suppliers in Switzerland, France and Germany. Many scents are named after places, from Portofino and Venice to Berlin itself.
In Berlin, smell the range at the Birkholz Perfume Bar on the first floor of KaDeWe, by the Ansbacher Straße entrance. It is open 10:00 to 20:00, following the store's hours. Berlin Soul costs €179 for 100 ml and €138 for 50 ml. Try it first: it is one of the house's bestsellers and its portrait of the city at night, with tobacco and whiskey under open rooftops.
