A Turin house with shops in three cities
Laboratorio Olfattivo was founded in Turin, Italy, in 2009 by Roberto Drago and his wife Daniela Caon, and it began with five fragrances. Drago is the creative director and oversees each new scent. Caon looks after the house's image, from its colours to its packaging. The house gives its perfumers, Italian and from abroad, full creative freedom, with one rule: the scent should be elegant and unique.
Its noses include Jean-Claude Ellena, Cécile Zarokian, Marie Duchêne, David Maruitte and Pierre Guéros. Ellena signed two collections for the house, Viaggio in Italia and Fioriture. The packaging is done entirely by hand in the house's own workshops. The first Turin store opened in December 2015.
It has its own shops in three Italian cities. In Turin, the Laboratorio Olfattivo store is at Via Giolitti 5, open every day from 10:30 to 19:30. The others are at Via delle Carrozze 18 in Rome and Via Fiori Chiari 7 in Milan. Most eaux de parfum cost €60 to €140. Try Arancia Rossa first: Ellena's blood orange cologne nods to the orange battle of the Ivrea carnival, near Turin, and costs €120 for 100 ml.
