Seville's orange blossom and New World spices
Luz de Sevilla is a Seville perfume brand that sets out to tell the city's history through scent. Its site does not name a founder or a founding year. Its starting points are the orange blossom of Seville and the spices, such as vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon and cloves, that reached the city's port from the New World in the 16th century, along with its Moorish and Mediterranean past.
Many of its scents pair orange blossom with something else: fig and violet in Estrella Andalusí, tomato flower and black pepper in Soleá, rose and oud wood in Imperium. The house says each perfume is made with local ingredients. In March 2026 Marie Claire Spain picked out its fresh citrus perfume Sevilla, built on bitter orange, bergamot and orange blossom.
It has its own shop on the historic Calle Susona, at number 7, and a second one on Plaza del Cabildo, both in the centre of Seville. On its site most perfumes cost €40 or €45, and it also sells orange blossom soaps and fans. Start with Sevilla, the simplest take on the city's orange blossom, at €40.
