Masque Milano

Founded 2010

Alessandro Brun and Riccardo Tedeschi started Masque in Milan in 2010. The house is built like an opera, with its perfumes grouped into acts, and each perfumer's name is printed on the box. It also launched Milano Fragranze, a line about places in the city.

The story

Milan perfumes staged like an opera

Masque Milano was born on 1 April 2010, founded by Alessandro Brun and Riccardo Tedeschi. Brun, who was born and raised in Milan, taught luxury management for many years at the Politecnico di Milano, where Tedeschi was one of his students. The house takes its look from opera, in gold, black and red.

The founders wrote down memories as scenes, then cast perfumers, often young and little known, to play them. The house has no perfumer of its own, and each perfumer's name is printed on the box and bottle. The Opera collection has four acts of four scenes each, sixteen perfumes in all. In 2020 it added Milano Fragranze, eleven scents each tied to a place or feeling in Milan. The company is registered in Pioltello, in the province of Milan.

In Milan its own store list names stockists such as Campo Marzio on Via Brera, Mazzolari at Corso Monforte 2 and 10 Corso Como. Mazzolari on Corso Monforte opens every day, with a lunch break on Sundays. Try L'Attesa first: by Luca Maffei, it pairs iris with a champagne accord to evoke waiting for a lover.
